Avnet's Steve Gereb was recently recognized by Microsoft for his leadership of the Avnet Microsoft embedded team. Congratulations Steve!

During the Microsoft Partner Summit in Bellevue, WA last month, Steve Gereb was awarded the Microsoft OED "Franchise Manager of the Year",.  This is an award that was given out by Mauro Favero, Sr. Director of Strategic Business Development for Microsoft OED, who stated that he was proud to present this award in "recognition of Avnet's turnaround, sales growth, thought leadership and best practices.",  In addition to Avnet leading the channel in new design registrations during FY'11, the development of a strong FY'11 pipeline and excellent year-over-year sales growth, Mauro and the Microsoft Americas Team was very complimentary of Avnet's implementation of industry best practices.

Additionally, in recognition of Avnet's industry best practices (which included deployment of a dedicated team, executive engagement and commitment, field readiness programs, demand generation marketing campaigns and the development of business intelligence tools), Steve Gereb was invited to speak at Microsoft OED's World Wide FY'11 Sales Kick-Off in Bellevue, WA last July.  Steve was honored to accept this award, stating , "The collaboration between Avnet and Microsoft has been tremendous this past year. To me, this award is a testament to Tony Madden's leadership and a validation of our team's effort, passion and execution. Now we've got to work even harder to win the award for Avnet again next year".
