SKU Differences

There are two major differences between the "Professional" and "Ultimate" versions of Windows 7 and Vista For Embedded Systems: Security and Language Support.

Security
The Ultimate edition of Windows 7  For Embedded Systems includes BitLocker. BitLocker helps keep everything from documents to passwords safer by encrypting the entire drive that Windows and your data reside on. Once BitLocker is turned on, any file you save on that drive is encrypted automatically.

BitLocker To Go—a new feature of Windows 7—gives the lockdown treatment to easily-misplaced portable storage devices like USB flash drives and external hard drives.

Language Support
The Ultimate edition of Windows 7 For Embedded Systems can display menus, dialog boxes, Help topics, andother text in 35 different languages. Switching between them is easy and free by  just downloading and installing a language pack from Windows Update. The Professional edition requires Language Interface Packs (LIPs) to be manually installed in order to provide a translated version of only the most widely used dialog boxes, menu items, and help content. To install a LIP, you will need to have the required parent language installed on your PC.  One can download LIPs from the Microsoft Download Center by using this link: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/downloads/languages
